UNN NEWS :The state Level Launching of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush was held today at the Ganesh Das Govt. Maternal & child health hospital, (Lawmali) Polo. Speaking on the occasion, smti. R. R. Marak MSC Joint secretary health & family welfare department govt. of Meghalaya, stated that it was a privilege for her to be a part of this Mission Indradhanush of 4th round of the 4th phase and that apart from the speeches given by the rest of the team from the mission, it’s clear that how important this mission is, and the importance of Vaccination & immunization, and it’s through these vaccines we can prevent Diseases which cannot be cured. Speaking to our media representative, Dr. Dhilanjan Roy surveillance medical officer from world health organisation, further stated that this mission is held in order to improve the immunization coverage in Meghalaya, with particular focus on the children below 2 years, and pregnant women who have not recieved their vaccination doses in time, since it has been noted that the children and pregnant women who are not immunized on time they have greater risk of contracting diseases which can even result in death, so we hope that with this programme, we will be able to provide better coverage.
